We are “Over the Rainbow” bringing smiles, meals and flowers to seniors. ~
Q and A - with - Dos Gringos
Q: You are getting older, but you are not a senior yet, correct?
A: I think in flower years I’m definitely a senior! However, there are many real seniors who need a nutritious meal, a moment of someone’s time, and of course a bouquet on their birthday.
Q: Tell us more... A: One of the many organizations which we actively support in San Diego is Meals on Wheels. I was fortunate enough to serve on their board for over 6 years and now serve on their Alumni Council but we actually do much more than donate our time. For over 10 years we’ve supplied all the table arrangements, large auction table displays and special donor bouquets for their Annual Gala and for over 20 years we have donated weekly bouquets for Meals on Wheels recipients who are celebrating a birthday that week.
Q: That’s cool! Do you do anything else for them? A: We sure do. We also support the Volunteer Luncheon and provide bouquets to the 200 north county volunteers who so graciously volunteer to make those deliveries. Joan Saunders, my right and left hands and feet also serves on their Advisory Board for North County San Diego.
Q: Don’t tell me…there are pictures? A: Just follow the yellow brick road (this years Gala theme) or just scroll down….
Volunteers help to make the gala a success.
Our table toppers are auctioned off at the gala.
