Q: Let me guess….This is about Halloween?
A: Halloween, Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and our spooky fall flowers and foliage!
Q: Got it. Tell me more…. A: At DG we love the fall and all the fun we have at our company. We begin with Halloween and our annual costume party. It’s fun to see how creative our teammates can be with their regalia. We do a pizza lunch, a little “parade” through the facility, pass out candy to those that decided not to dress up, and then they day ends with the pumpkin carving contest!
Q: Tell me about the contest.
A: Every department comes together to design and carve their own pumpkins. Trust me, some departments take this VERY seriously! (see last year's submissions below.) .
Q: That sounds like fun. What about Dia De Los Muertos?
A: November 1st is an important date in many countries and “celebrated” in Mexico as a way to honor and remember those who have died. You can’t have a company called Dos Gringos without taking part in this celebration! Preparedness includes cleaning of houses and outside areas, the extensive use of Marigolds as a signature flower, intricate face painting and the making of “calavera” or sugar skulls. Toys are purchased to honor children, the tequila and mescal are reserved for the adults. We like that part the best!
Q: Do you have designs that go with the holidays?
A: I’m so glad you asked…of course we do! Fall is our time to shine…see a few pictures below…
Is anyone afraid of this “aracno-bouquet” with its spider-web sleeve?
