Summer Variety Sunflowers in the Winter

Q: What's the difference between a Summer and Winter Sunflower variety?

A: Glad you asked. We plant our winter Sunflower seeds in multiple unique microclimates in Southern mainland Mexico and the Sonora Desert in Northern Mexico where the days are warm, and the nights are cool. This is different than our Baja locations where the winter days are cool, and the nights are warm.

Q: Sounds like you found a really good spot for the Winter?

A: Actually, it's SPOTS! We plant in over 800 acres in the Winter. It took us about 10 years to find these spots and figure this out, but we did. Our Grow Team was relentless in their pursuit to solve this challenge. Now in the winter we have the right weather, soil, seed, fertilizer and team.

Q: Wow, so you just don't throw some sunflowers in the ground, and they pop up beautiful and Sunny?

A: I dream of that day. There's a lot of extra work to make this happen and it's worth it. It's worth it because you get a 10x better quality sunflowers and we get a chance to make you smile. And that makes me happy. Here are a few pictures for you.
